Winter week on horseback (7 days)

Spend an exciting winter week with us and our Icelandic horses, and make a lot of other activities. It is exiting to ride in the snow, in the forest on smaller tracks in the dark and during day light. Except of riding tours we give you riding classes, visit the famous ICEHOTEL, drive snowmobile and go reindeer sledging during this week. You learn about the Sami culture and have local guides with you these days, very familiar with the area and culture. You will feel peace and quiet, and be much out in the nature. Hopefully you will see northern lights, reindeer, moose and other animals these days. What you will experience when you visit us is both genuine and exiting.

Below is an example of the week-long program:

After transfer to our farm the first day you start with a riding class in the afternoon to get familiar with the horses and the tölt. We eat a 3-course dinner together after. Outside the window you will hopefully see moose and northern lights. The second day you go snowmobiling, two persons on each snowmobile. You learn how to drive snowmobile this day and have outdoor lunch prepared over open fire. In the evening you have then a riding tour in the dark looking for northern lights and spend the evening in the goahti (Sami hut) round the fire eating dinner. The next day you will meet reindeer, try reindeer sledging, learn about Sami culture and life. In the afternoon you visit the famous ICEHOTEL, have dinner at the restaurant and in the evening you come back to the farm. The fourth day you go riding and in the afternoon we visit the town Kiruna and the Sami museum. The next day you ride in the forest, probably seeing moose and in the afternoon you will have a sauna, from where you have a beautiful view over the river and mountains. The sixth day we ride in the forest and in the afternoon we ride on the oval track. The last day we bring you back to Kiruna.

During this week you stay overnight in a house on our small horse farm with double rooms, shared kitchen/living room and bathroom. Our farm is beautiful located close the Kalix river west of Kiruna in a small village. We serve local specialities, like game and fish. Most of the activities we do from our farm, but to some of them we go by car and the activities are probably done in another order than in this program and we always have to respect the winter weather.

Length: 7 days and 6 nights

Included: Full board and lodging (dinner 1st day-breakfast 7th day), all activities in the program, guide (Swedish-, English-speaking), warm outdoor clothes, helmet and transfer Kiruna

Extra: Instead of one of the nights on the farm – one night at ICEHOTEL (2 p in double room – ice room Mon-Wed)

Instead of visiting Kiruna you can go on a dog sledding tour for SEK 2900 extra p/p (2p sharing sledge, lunch included)

Restrictions:  You need to be minimum 3 persons for the tour to run. Please note that other guests can be booked on the same tour. Minimum age for this tour is 12 years and maximum weight is 90 kg.
